FCS Concert Choir Sings at Carnegie Hall
The Fremont Christian School High School Concert Choir will again perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Saturday March 11, 2017 as a part of the Manhattan Concert Productions Masterworks Festival Chorus, singing Charles Gounod’s “St. Cecilia Mass.” The Festival Chorus is comprised of selected high school and university choirs, community choruses, and church choirs. While on the trip, FCS students will see two Broadway shows: “The Lion King” and “Wicked” and take in the sights and flavors of The Big Apple.
Here are upcoming performances for the FCS Choirs:
In the off-years from the New York trip to Carnegie Hall, the Concert Choir travels to Pasadena for the Association of Christian Schools International Senior High Musicale in Southern California. Joining with other high school choirs from California, the students will participate in a two-day festival which culminates in a concert featuring all of the 600+ students singing together. The next trip will be in the Spring of 2018.
Here are some recent performances for the FCS Choirs:
FCS presented Rogers and Hammerstein's beloved fairy tale "Cinderella" on May 5, 6, 7, and 8 in the Harbor Light Sanctuary with full orchestra (playing that beautiful score filled with those wonderful Rogers and Hammerstein melodies!), beautiful costumes, scenery, lighting...the works! A cast of over 110 students brought this classic musical to life. Remember..."impossible things are happening everyday!"
Ensemble Christmas Concerts
The FCS Living Water Vocal Ensemble joined with the sixty voices of the Centerville Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Choir. A superb orchestra comprised of CPC Orchestra musicians played alongside professionals from the Bay Area, with outstanding featured performers to present four nights of joyous, “over the top” musical Christmas celebrations.
