Adventures in the Great Outdoors (Summer 2017) - FAQ's

May 31, 2017
By Admission Office

If you have questions about Fremont Christian School's Summer Enrichment Program - Adventures in the Great Outdoors, then this is where you need to be!

Read on for more information. Anything additional? Please contact us!

What does my child do during the day while attending?

Our summer enrichment program has a focus on core academics, such as reading, writing, and math. We will start classes indoors, with breaks for morning recess and lunch, then transition to the outdoor classroom with a focus on the session's theme (for example: Week 6 - Garden to Table will involve time in the campus garden).

Each week will have two outings: One field trip connected to the week theme, and one water field trip (younger children will remain on campus to participate in water games).

How many weeks can I register for?

You can register for as little as two weeks, or for the full session of seven weeks. The weeks do not need to be consecutive (for example: You can register for Week 2 and then Week 5).

What is most cost effective?

If you are planning to register for the full session, or for more than two weeks, it is best to purchase sessions together. ActivityHero automatically calculates the costs, and there is a built-in multiple session discount for registering for more than two weeks together.

If you are planning to register for five weeks total and are looking to make a cost effective decision, please register the five sessions together. If you split registration into three weeks and two weeks, it will end up being more expensive.

How does extended care work?

Extended care is charged at $70 per week, which is inclusive of morning and afternoon. If your child has not been registered for extended care, you will be charged per usage as emergency extended care.

Morning extended care begins at 7:00 AM and will go until classtime until 9:00 AM.

Afternoon extended care begins after class at 3:00 PM and ends promptly 6:30 PM.

How do I register for Adventures in the Great Outdoors?

Registration is available via ActivityHero: Click Here

Age eligibility: Children entering grades 1-8 in Fall 2017.

Can my child register for the summer program, even though he/she does not attend Fremont Christian School?

Yes! The summer enrichment program is available to students outside of FCS.

Please make sure to email us a copy of your child's birth certificate:

The pricing doesn't look right! What's wrong?

Most likely, you will simply need to click to enter the cart. Within the cart, ActivityHero will automatically calculate the multiple sessions, registration fee, and extended care (if selected).

If the above doesn't seem to be the case, please make sure that you have created only one child profile per child. If you have created a separate child profile for one child, you will be charged for each separate profile, as if he/she is several different children.

I registered for four weeks, but now need to cancel a week. How do I cancel a session?

For session cancellations and refunds, please send us a notice in writing via email: You will receive an email confirmation on the refund, which will be issued back via your credit card.

I have more questions! How do I reach you for answers?

Early Birds Make Music

May 23, 2017
By Admission Office

FCS has multiple bands for our students. One of the most advanced bands is the contemporary jazz band, Dixie Dominus. The members of Dixie come to practice early each morning – 7:00 AM! They’re on campus for practice Monday through Friday during the whole school year.

We’re nearing the end of the school year, and Dixie is still going strong. They’ve had performances throughout the school year, even during weekends; located on-campus and off, traveling out to San Francisco and beyond. They will have their final school year performance on Thursday, May 25.

Most of these students are involved in other school activities as well, such as athletics, clubs, and other fine art options. Each member of Dixie shows their great dedication with their commitment to practice and the quality of their music.

Let's not forget our wonderful band director, Mr. B. If the kids come at 7:00 AM, one can only wonder what time he comes in to prepare.

Catch Dixie Dominus' last school year performance at Mission Coffee on 5/25 at 7:30 PM! Admission is free.

Behind a herculean effort by team captain Tony W., the Warriors put together a hard-hitting, well-communicated game against a very tough Lions team, who had great success in the playoffs the year before. The final score was 25-18 in the first set, and 25-11 in the second.

The Warriors continued their exciting playoff run this last Saturday, 5/20, against Contra Costa Christian in the BASCAL playoffs.
