Our COVID-19 Response
At Fremont Christian School we are committed to providing an excellent and safe education for all of our students. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic and Alameda County guidelines, we have transitioned to distance learning for all of our K-12 classes.
Our early education department will still be offering in-person care and abiding by all Alameda County, state and national guidelines to care for children 18 months to 5 years old as safely as possible.
Our staff have adapted quickly and found creative ways to make distance learning fun, engaging, and still academically rigorous.
With our distance learning format, we have incorporated a range of platforms commonly used in universities and beyond. We believe that by learning how to effectively navigate these platforms now, our students will be better prepared for life after FCS!
The platforms we are using are Canvas, Zoom, Google and TurnitIn. All of these platforms are integrated with the learning management system Canvas which Mrs. Williams, our elementary principal, and educational technology director describes as “our virtual classroom”. You can learn more about canvas here.
Zoom, a videoconferencing service used by students and employees around the world, is what we use to conduct our live classes. You can learn more about zoom here.
Turnitin is a “plagiarism detection service”, used in universities across the country to help ensure that students do their own best work. You can learn more about Turnitin here.
Big school opportunities in a small school environment: Fremont Christian School partners with families to provide our every day kids both an extraordinary education and genuine encounters with Jesus, all within a community of compassion.
